Anxiety Lifter, Mood Booster

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Navigating sibling relationships in the younger years can be daunting. Actually, I don’t need all those extra words. Relationships can be daunting. That’s closer to the truth. Now even when most “things” our schedules, jobs, finances, dishes, that one open cabinet drawer, are all in sync – even then, we can still easily find fault in our loved ones and take out our stresses and worries and anxieties out on them. Or it may just be me!

But, the funny thing is, I’m not even supposed to be carrying around the weight of this stress or these burdens that press heavily down on my shoulders. When I finally realize my snippy tone of voice or the less-than loving responses, I try to step away and give myself a time-out to retreat and regain a happy heart. During that time, I’m praying, breathing deeply, and relaxing in our cool and dark bedroom. Silence is a wonderful thing.

Here are a few of my favorite tension-relieving, mood boosters:

  • Cool compress on my forehead with peppermint essential oils
  • Peaceful piano music playing softly
  • Sandalwood & Tobacco candle or Cedar & Bourbon candle
  • Lemon & Cucumber Water with nugget ice (the ice is a whole thing!!)
  •  Reading a novel

There’s my quick list; does any of this resonate? What are your go-to’s for self-care? Jeb, my love, will jump in the bathtub for any and every ailment! It’s become a running joke, but it’s a wonderful coping mechanism!!

Have a wonderful week, sweet friends! Every joy, and all peace be yours.

Shelbie
